Datuk Wira Chiau Haw Choon established the Construction Engineering division of the Group, Chin Hin Construction Engineering (“CHCE”) Group of Companies, in 2020.
He graduated from Deakin University, Australia, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Marketing in 2009. Following his graduation, he joined Chin Hin Group Berhad (“CHGB”) as Group Managing Director, where he played a crucial role in transforming the company from a family-owned business into a professionally managed corporation which is listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.
Under his visionary leadership, and with the support of a team of professionals he recruited, CHGB diversified its building materials distribution business by venturing upstream into the manufacturing of building materials products and downstream into property development, home and living segments. This strategic transformation has elevated the Group from a distributor into an integrated building materials provider.
The establishment of CHCE has significantly strengthened the Group’s capabilities in the construction and engineering sectors, positioning it as a key player in these industries. In addition to his role at CHGB, Datuk Wira Chiau holds several other key positions: Managing Director of Signature International Berhad and Ajiya Berhad, Executive Director for Chin Hin Property Group Berhad, and Non-Independent Executive Director of Fiamma Holdings Berhad. He also holds directorships in various private limited companies.
In recognition of his entrepreneurial achievements, Datuk Wira Chiau was named the EY Entrepreneur of the Year for Malaysia in 2017, becoming the youngest recipient of the award at age 33. He represented Malaysia at the annual World Entrepreneur of the Year (WEOY) event in Monte Carlo in 2018.
